You know the books that take every bit of strength and courage you have to continue, yet you simply cannot put it down because you know reading it will change you? This was In the Stillness by Andrea Randall. Be forewarned if you decide to take it on, there's a lot of taboo topics and you WILL cry; Cutting, PTSD, Resentment, Pain and the inability to deal with life as a wife and mom. Read it though, I don't think you'll regret it.

This book was so not the style of my current reads; it's written in first person and frankly, while there are several passionate moments between Leah & Liam, it wasn't the usual freak fest I've been immersed in lately- there was actually so much tenderness. The first 30% depressed me~ seriously bawl like a baby, want to drown my sorrows in Jack, and made me wonder why the hell I was torturing myself reading it. Maybe it was because I related a bit too closely to Leah; but I am so glad I continued. While the conclusion is open ended so as a reader I was left to assume a HEA, it was nice to experience the main character's healing and growing strength as she climbed out of her pit. From the first page, the author that had me blubbering one minute and then hoping, cursing, cheering and finally sighing; it was well worth the emotional rollercoaster I encountered- this book will stay with me.

Wow. I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face. I am a hopeless romantic and what a beautiful story. Though not typical of what I've been reading lately, it is easily one of the best books I've read. The last chapter tugged at my heart so tight, It's the words that change peoples lives in the end, right?

Tragedy struck early leaving Jocelyn a very wealthy teenager. To escape her past and memories, she travels from America to live in Scotland to attend college where she ends up staying because she has dual citizenship. Never learning to cope, she is often knocked to her very core with panic attacks even into adulthood. Without letting anyone in, due to fear, she only has two people she considers a friend, her previous roommate and her old roommate's boyfriend -both of who she really doesn't know- and they move away and leave her to find a new place to live. All alone, again, she seeks out and finds the perfect place...her new roommate, Ellie, though comes with feelings she's not used to and an older wealthy brother who happens to be interested in her not only sexually but as a person and proposes friends with benefits trysts.

Reading about Joss conquering her self-destruct patterns had me in angst and left me shaking my head may times. Braden was an ultimate broody Man's man who had his own issues.

This book made me laugh, cry, be frustrated, and sigh. I enjoyed the book immensely and definitely would recommend.

What an emotional rollercoaster--and no happy ending. I was so drained reading this series. Great style of writing though.
